Twilight Sailing

TWILIGHT SAILING blank.png

If only Saturday sailing could be this relaxed…

Come down for a sail, stay for a drink, sit down for a meal. Twilight sailing on Wednesday evenings is the only way to end 'hump day'.

Twilight sailing starts around mid October when the daylight hours start to get a little longer and continues right through until around April.

Sailing starts between 5.30pm - 6.00pm with the sound of a horn from the club start tower (see Season Programme for exact times), generally crews head out to the boats at least 30-45 mins prior.

Experience is not required however you do need to be able to move around freely. Koombana Bay Sailing Club also hosts Rotary Sail Into Life, they provide opportunities for people with disabilities, regardless of their ability, mobility or circumstances to try sailing. For more information see our RSIL page.

For those Crew members who are keen to get involved and try twilight sailing, come down to the clubhouse and hitch a ride on one of the many boats who are sailing. You can contact the registration staff at the clubhouse from around 5.00pm to see who is in need of a crew.
You can also add you name to the online crew registration page or to the crew white board at the Club.

Non-members and guests are always welcome. Non-Members and Social Members must have registered for a SailPass before heading out to a boat.

A SailPass is a means by which a Non-Member can go sailing at our Club – it’s a form of introductory or short term sailing membership (for a day).
You can register for as many Twilight sails as you like for your first season, after that there is the expectation that you will upgrade to a Crew Membership to continue sailing regularly.

Register here for a SailPass.

KBSC Social Members and Affiliate Members (Members from other AS Clubs) will need their Australian Sailing Number to register to sail in any KBSC event. Find your AS Number here.
Once you have your AS Number please register to sail here.

(This is a very popular event so places are limited and a crew position on a boat cannot be guaranteed)
